The new Olympic stadium site in Westminster, London has been the site of several accidents since 2005 and has been sentenced by the Old Bailey to pay 12,500 in costs and £40,000 to an injured worker. In a sentencing just before Christmas, Olympic builder Sir Robert McAlpine came under the courts scrutiny when a mobile crane hit a lamppost knocking it onto a worker’s leg.
