At ConExpo this year, Komatsu unveils its new series of bulldozers, the D39EX-22 and the D39PX-22 crawler dozers. The latest range of Komatsu bulldozers were introduced this year are Komatsus push to become a heavy hitter in the bulldozer market. The Komatsu crawler dozers feature Hydrostatic Transmission (HST) these machines are made to work best in general construction, site preparation, home building, forestry and utility applications. The D39EX-22 and the D39PX-22 take over from their predecessors the D51-22 Komatsu bulldozer series. The latest D39EX-22 machines come equipped with a super-slant nose that is coupled with a new cab forward design that means the operator is closer to the blade which improves visibility, balance, ride and stability. The Komatsu bulldozers are outfitted with a fuel efficient 4.5 liter engine that meets the EPA Tier 3 emissions standards. The Komatsu engine is a SAA4D107E-1 engine which provides the net pushing power of 105 hp at 2,400 RPM and range. The operating weight ranges from 20,834 to 21,804 pounds depending on which machine it is.
Both come standard with low ground pressure models that offer appropriate weight distribution and flotation options that work best with each particular application. The Komatsu bulldozer D39-22 comes with a steering system that provides smooth and controlled movements during operations which allows the operator to have better control when approaching corner grading and sidewall operations. The new bulldozer comes equipped with the latest Komtrax technology. The Komatsu bulldozer technology allows operating information to be sent to a secure website which provides real time information as to the cautions and maintenance and location. The new D39-22 Komatsu bulldozer also uses a large power angle tilt blade that has a capacity of 2.89 yd3 to 3.01 yd3 which results in more material staying on the blade improving machine productivity.
