Cat Introduces Ats System For Bulldozers, Road Graders 12/03/2008 Caterpillar introduces the new MT900C Active Machine Target or Advanced Tracking Sensor (ATS) for AccuGrade ATS systems. Catperpillar hope to broaden the use of machine control and guidance industry with the latest innovation of the AccuGrade ATS on both motor graders and Cat bulldozers. The motor grader or bulldozer operator will be able to perform real-time fine grading operations with a more detailed and accurate ability which also reduces fear of losing instrument lock. The remote target guidance system uses a 360 degree circle of infrared LEDs for reliable tracking from any horizontal direction. The infrared LED system has a programmable unit of 16 IDs which allows the infrared LED lights to lock-on to the programmed target and track the correct target every time. This will be a particular boon to Cat bulldozers and motor graders working with precision operations. The MT900C has been designed to work under extreme temperatures as well as vibration, moisture, and dust. The system is made out of aluminum end caps and a rugged, sealed network connector that are designed to handle rough conditions that mean baring the brunt of heavy machinery vibrations. The MT900C will work on Caterpillar bulldozers and road grader that need to operate in temperatures around -40oC to 80oC with a high-strength acrylic lens that is designed to resist scratch and cracking. One of the added bonuses of the AccuGrade ATS system made for Cat bulldozers and road graders is its ability to reduce fuel consumption and save time and cost benefits by allowing the operator to achieve high accuracy eliminating re-doing any work. Another feature of the MT900C is that it provides enhanced dynamic tracking performance and a guranteed lock to the correct target ensuring the correct machine has been tracked, which makes a big difference on busy and dusty construction sites. |
