Brief History Of The Case Backhoe Loader 19/03/2008

The history of Case Construction goes back to 1842 when inventor and founder Jerome Case built threshing machines. These days the company has grown into a global recognized manufacturer, where one in three combine harvesters, and Case backhoe loaders, and one in four tractors and skid-steer loaders sold worldwide come from Case New Holland. By 1912 Case had grown into an established part of the construction equipment industry for road-building equipment like steam rollers and road graders.


In 1957 Case expanded by buying American Tractor Corporation. This in turn led to the development of the prototype industrial-wheel tractor, designed to accommodate a Case backhoe on the rear and a loader on the front. This paved the way for the first Case backhoe loader, and sure enough the landmark Case backhoe loader the Case Model 320 was born. In 1999 Case merged with New Holland to become CNH Global and became a standard bearer in the world of leading brands of construction and agricultural equipment. In 1982 Case celebrated their 25th anniversary of the first factory-integrated Case backhoe loader with the introduction of the 580D. In 1998 Case then became the first manufacturer to offer ride control on their Case backhoe loaders as well as the first to offer ride control on skid steers. In 2000 Case manufactured the 100,000th skid steer in its popular 1800 Series line. This was also the year Case introduced its new M Series backhoe loaders which included the revolutionary Pro Control System, exclusive backhoe hydraulic quick coupler, high-visibility cab and increased loader lift power.
