Caterpillar Backhoe Loaders 18/03/2008 The new addition to the family of Caterpillar backhoe loaders was announced recently with the 450E backhoe loader series to take prominent place. The new backhoe loader series features a 17-foot trenching depth and a powerful lifting capacity. The backhoe loader manufacturers say the 450E backhoe loader increases performance with enhanced operator comfort, superior controllability, emissions regulations compliance, easier maintenance, and new styling which replaces the 446D. The 450E is the largerst Caterpillar backhoe loader in the 17-foot dig depth class and is the largest backhoe loader in the Caterpillar range. The new model has an increased bucket size and increased hydraulic flow and stronger rimpul for faster cycle times. The 450E comes with 124 horsepower, the extendible stick reaches a digging depth of 21 feet 4 inches. The new backhoe loader has a high rotation backhoe linkage which eliminates the need to change the pin position when moving from loading trucks to vertical wall trenching. The ride control has also been improved with operator comfort at varying speeds and reduces bucket spillage. The 450E features a 10 percent increase in backhoe loading and swing forces due to the enhanced hydraulics and reformed backhoe geometry. The redesigned backhoe loader cab has curved glass and a low hood which enhances the operators sight lines to the loader. The cab also features foot operated tilt steering. The AC has also been upgraded to produce 20 percent more airflow. Caterpillar have also started offering factory-installed thumbs, one of the first manufacturing companies in the industry to do so. The thumbs will be available in either hydraulic and stiff-link versions and are all compatible with just about every bucket and coupler combination. |
